The most important fashion week of South America, SPFW, took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil last week where the most sought-after Brazilian designers showcased their SS11-12 collections for the press and media. We noticed lots of boudoir inspired designs {of course!} and have brought them to you for some inspiration and enjoyment. We focused only on those that brought us lingerie inspired creations, although there were dozens more of amazing talent at the show.
So let's begin...
In honor of Liz Taylor and inspired by the woman of the golden years and the brilliance of diamonds, Reinaldo Lourenco {photo above} used super luxurious materials such as satin, gabardine, organza and leather for the creation of his 2012 collection. The main color was black accompanied with creme, rose quartz, sapphire and emerald tones. The bra became a focus on many of the looks, using it as an outerwear. So cool and sexy were the "kittens" mounting over the bust, love it!

Alexandre Herchcovitch's collection was full of pastel color, bows, and floral prints with a romantic theme. Silk jacquard and silk fabrics were the key to this ultra-feminine collection full of knots, laces and embroideries in a silhouette well defined in flower tulle bodices.

IĆ³dice brings a gorgeous collection in an amazing color combination of yellow & black with a stunning new kind of lace and semi-transparent fabrics. Also white was featured in beautiful lingerie inspired fabrics and laces in ultra feminine styles. Iodice really showed well boudoir looks as outerwear, a trend that is becoming more and more influential in the fashion industry.

Known for his lavish gala dresses and wedding gowns, designer Samuel Cirnansck impressed with the stunning and meticulous dresses that are true works of art. With a fetish theme, he used cuffs and restraints on the models and latex & lace combined together on many of the styles, which was the foundation of many of his creations bringing such an edgy vibe to this collection.

Lino Villaventura's collection was very dreamy with lots of flowing dresses which its loose silhouette look great in various body types. The styles were purely sensual in luxurious fabrics of georgette, organza, and beautiful embroideries and fancy embellishments. The dresses reminded us of Greek goddesses...

Other Highlights: There were tons of gorgeous bikinis in the runway but one of our favorites were Cia. Maritima's one piece worn by Isabeli Fontana {above on the right}. Also loved Agua de Coco's bikini set in a beautiful shade of purple/blue and tangerine bottom; the cut of the bikini top is so unique and stylish. Paula Raia launched her first collection on SPFW with easy to wear designs and we loved the bodysuits in her collection specially the hot orange chiffon pieces, it brings a new definition of boudoir inspired clothing that are very realistic and easy to wear in the real world. Colcci highlight this year was the presence of Ashton Kutcher and Alessandra Ambrosio together in the runway as they are the new faces of the Brazilian label.
