You've heard it before. Men are more attracted to a woman who is ovulating. Women are attracted to tall men. Although these rules are not absolute, studies have proved them to be true in the majority of cases. And so, studies such as these—aside from being intensely interesting—may provide insight about evolutionary development, psychology, and deeply ingrained human emotions.

Another recent study has linked an everyday occurrence with sexual attraction. Long has the American media associated the color red been with love, passion, and beauty; however, there may be truth to this association.

Researchers at the University of Rochester found that the color red may actually be the color of romance. In a variety of experiments, young men averaging the age of twenty were shown photographs in which women were either wearing red or standing in front of a red background. The men who participated in the study overwhelmingly chose the women who were associated with the color red as being more attractive. In fact, men even admitted they would spend more money on the women linked with red than on the women linked with any other color.
